As a product of Fort Mill Schools and a parent with a daughter currently enrolled, I recognize the pivotal role our local public education system plays in shaping the future. My dedication to our Fort Mill public schools is unwavering. I will tirelessly strive to maintain our school district's position as a leader in the state and nation. My advocacy extends to empowering parents and promoting their active involvement in their children's education. While strides have been made in elevating teacher pay, I believe more can be done. I commit to safeguarding every dollar allocated to our public schools, prioritizing the recruitment of top-tier educators, ensuring fair compensation, and providing the resources essential for shaping the future generations of our great State.
The safety and security of our families, children, and community is paramount. With the population growth of our district, it is imperative that our law enforcement receives the funding and training necessary to safeguard our community effectively. I intimately understand the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform, as evidenced by my brother's three-decade commitment to serving Fort Mill and York County as a Sheriff and Detective. Our law enforcement officers are true heroes, and I am committed to advocate for their needs as they tirelessly protect the community we cherish.
Drawing from my experiences representing thousands in South Carolina family courts, I've observed the system's failure to protect our most vulnerable children. I believe that we must protect and support those children who have been neglected, abused, or left homeless. Together with fellow legislators and family court officials, I will work towards creating an efficient and compassionate system that provides support to underprivileged children and those selfless families and individuals who open their doors to care for them. As your state representative, I will tirelessly advocate for the welfare of those who need it most.
EMPOWERING SMALL BUSINESS
In the face of rising inflation, our small businesses bear the brunt of economic challenges. Drawing from my experience as a small business owner in Fort Mill, I empathize with the daily hurdles faced by entrepreneurs. I firmly believe that small businesses are the backbone of the South Carolina economy. I commit to supporting our small business community by streamlining regulations, eliminating outdated and restrictive laws, and advocating for reduced business taxes. In Columbia, I will champion policies that foster an environment where our local businesses can thrive.
REFORMING JUDICIAL SELECTION
As an attorney with a statewide practice, I've witnessed the shortcomings in our current judicial selection system. It is time for a change to eliminate corruption and enhance transparency in the selection of qualified, fair judges. I pledge to advocate for judicial reform that not only improves the selection process but also instills confidence in the residents of South Carolina.
A STRATEGIC FOCUS ON INFRASTRUCTURE
We must secure our fair share of infrastructure funding. As a lifelong resident of Fort Mill, I have seen the toll that the increase in population has had on our roads and our residents’ commute. Beyond the convenience, this is a matter of public safety and economic development. I will be a strong voice for our district to secure the necessary funding we need to build the infrastructure for both now and into the future.
